For me, star margarine is an excellent bread spread. Apply a moderate coat on bread loaf and sprinkle some sugar. The mix of margarine salty taste and sweetness of sugar is perfect. I will refuse consecutive servings of peanut and mayonnaise sandwich but never do it against margarine sandwich.
Another popular use of margarine is for cooking purposes. They claimed an egg fried with margarine has a better taste. Any food sautéed with margarine instead of regular cooking oil has better flavor too.
