Selling Expired Goods with Tampered Expiration Date

Before deciding to buy every food products, its is a usual practice to look at its declared expiration date. We want to be sure that the product is safe for consumption.

After inspection we should think twice and look again because some retailers are tampering the expiration date of their products. A dirty looking expiration date is doubtful and the product should not be bought.tampered expiration date

Reported by GMA 24 Oras: Some retailers at Balintawak Market are caught by Quezon City Health Office. Those retailers are selling expired food products such as canned goods, hotdogs and other processed meats and cheese and other kind of spreads.

Buyers cannot readily determined if the products are expired because their expiry dates were tampered. Products are priced lower than other grocery goods to attract buyers. Consumer should doubt if the price is unsually low.

Quezon City Health Office added that some small vendors and restaurant use expired food products for their menu. How scary!
