Notice the oil bottle below has larger head space than usual. Actually most of the ordinary cooking oil today are under-filled. Cooking oil re-fillers are cutting the volume to prevent the price increase. The bottle head space is going to be half of the bottle volume in the near future.
My prediction is not far from reality. They should also cut the bottle into half when that time comes.
By the way, increase in price is not a big deal as long as the product safety is assured. This bottle is not an ordinary cooking oil bottle. Notice a small piece of newspaper at its bottom.
The piece of newspaper is not inserted intentionally. This was a result of improper hygiene and lack of quality check. The case could be prevented if the manufacturer follows the strict rules of Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point).
The bottle is unbranded. The company from where it came from can easily deny the mistake they committed. Buying branded products is recommended so in case of product problems, the person liable for it can be pinpointed easily. Damages can be paid and the error can be corrected.
So before buying or eating any food commodities, please examine it carefully for spoilage or contamination with foreign objects. Even the biggest and most trusted companies commit mistakes.
