The 30 Minutes Fast Food Chain Rule

I never had a chance to prove this statement cause I never worked in any fast food chain before. I almost got a chance but I changed my mind after the medical exam. Here is the statement,”The rule of most fast food chain is to throw away any food that are not sold within 30 minutes”. No foods shall be reheated, they will be thrown in garbage can and no employees are allowed to take home any discarded dish. A famous celebrity that was used to work in a big fast food chain got separated from work because he attempted to take home some of it.garbage can

The statement was confirmed by one of my good friends. Any foods that are not sold within 30 minutes are discarded because they want to ensure that all foods are freshly cooked. Beyond 30 minutes time may also allow food contamination which could make a customer sick and damage the company reputation.

The rule is understandable, protecting customer welfare should be the first priority but throwing unsold but still good foods is a lot of waste. Imagine how many people can be fed by the thrown foods. Some people are so poor and need to sort out garbages just to find food to eat. Others are re-cooking foods collected from garbages and selling it (pagpag foods).

To prevent losses, cook foods on per order basis. Any dish can be pre-cooked, frozen and reheated when a customer order for it, most buyer are willing to wait for a freshly cooked dish. After doing so, compute for the save money and donate to charitable institutions.
